Not a lot of late night dining available in Rochester so we tried Tryon City Tavern due to the reviews. The service and food did not disappoint! Placed our food and drink order and drinks came out with 5 min and food within 15 min. The cauliflower buffalo bites were delicious as was the crispy chicken sandwich and the parm fries! Delicioussssss!
The hot wings are actually hot. If you get them dry and dusted you are in for some burn. Plus the blue cheese is great! Amazing beer selection and rotation for a small place. Taco Tuesdays! Give it a shot.
Everything on the menu is amazing. The chicken sandwich has a strong case for being the best in Rochester and the burger is no slouch either. They don't skimp on toppings, sides, or sauces. Wings are absolute fire. Bartenders are fantastic people so the service is always top notch. Tryon may be the most wonderful hidden gem bar in the city and us North Winton Village residents love it.

We came here as a family to celebrate a Birthday. The Birthday girl said some place that has burgers, sandwiches - that sort of thing. Many places are not open on Sundays but they are! We came into a very welcoming towny bar feel. This is the kind of place I personally love. We spoke to the bartender who gave us menus and told us to sit anywhere and just order with him. We sat at the table, figured out what we wanted, and ordered. If this place was super busy this may have been a pain but today it was no problem. 2 orders of boneless wings for the girls - one BBQ and one mild, a Caprese grilled chicken sandwich, a Feeling Saucy breaded chicken sandwich with country sweet, and a mushroom swiss burger. My wife said the country sweet chicken sandwich was the best she's ever had, and it was very large. The Caprese was also spoken highly of with the chicken being mentioned as very well cooked and not dry at all. The boneless wings were plentiful and the girls both enjoyed them. The mushroom swiss burger was very good. I enjoy mushrooms but no one else in the family does so it was a treat for me. The fries were crispy and well cooked. Everyone enjoyed them. This is my type of place and the bartender Joseph checked on us a few times to make sure we were all set. He was a nice guy and took good care of us. I would return without question. I'd have a beer and try something else on the menu, maybe a fish fry on Friday.
Unassuming neighborhood bar in a plaza quietly serving some of Rochester’s best occasional Mexican food on Tuesday and THE best fish fry in Rochester on Friday’s. Amazing craft beer tap list and wonderful bartenders. I’m happy to see an establishment put the health and safety of their community first.
It will depend on what day of the week you go as far as the clientele, but I’ve never had a bad experience here. Definitely one of my favorite bars for food- great wings (awesome blue cheese), AND they have a delicious veggie burger. Super solid staff, and great music (there’s also Touch Tunes if you want to change it up). We’re moving, and will 100% miss this hidden gem.
